If hot weather is forecast, it’s best to get an early start, take a break in the late afternoon and early evening when the heat peaks, and dine after sunset. That said, be prepared for possible unseasonable heat waves, such as the one that occurred when we visited in early May. Spring and fall are ideal times to travel to avoid the heat - and the crowds.
